Lilly discovered Bikram yoga when she was
She developed a regular practice then, as she was invited to trade working at the front desk in exchange for free yoga classes. Luckily, when she returned home, there was a Bikram Yoga studio in Ithaca. She was hooked from the start and planned to attend teacher training as soon as she could. Unfortunately, a meniscus tear and surgery prevented her from going but the yoga helped her to heal quickly and she was off to Bikram’s next nine-week teacher training in Los Angeles in the Spring of 2005. She has been teaching ever since.
Three years after training she suffered a severe injury; a compound fracture of her tibia, along with spiral fractures in her fibula and ankle left her off her feet for months. She still carries some hefty hardware with her in her bones but this yoga practice has helped tremendously with recovery and physiological maintenance of health, with injuries and beyond. Her faith in this practice is solid. It works, and it is the most complete system for the body and the mind she has ever experienced.
Her commitment to the practice is evident in how she runs the Pure Sweat studio, keeping yoga alive in our community. Lilly thrives on the fact that the subject of the body and yoga is so vast and her knowledge of the two will continue to grow for as long as she practices and teaches yoga.
