I experienced my first Bikram Yoga class while visiting my daughter in CA, I was 48 years old. Although practicing other styles of yoga I had never experienced anything quite like it and became hooked! After practicing for two years attended teacher training in 2003 at the Bikram Headquarters in Los Angeles and have been teaching and practicing ever since. I teach with the knowledge of how beneficial this yoga has been in my life and consistently see the tremendous health benefits of people who practice regularly. I really love that all ages and body types can practice and love to see the change in people, their improved health, and overall happiness.
My style of teaching emphasizes a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment. It doesn’t matter who you are, how old, flexible or not flexible… the only thing that matters is that you show up and do your best for that day, gaining the benefits. To this day the yoga is a challenge for me, but I know that going through the practice is what helps me stay healthy, and as I age flexible. Feeling good is what keeps me practicing.
I am excited to continue sharing the amazing benefits of this yoga and am very happy to be a part of our beautiful Ithaca Pure Sweat Studio.
